Alumni Gift is a "ProStore" and all transactions are supported by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, also known as secure order protection, secure certificate or digital certificate. Developed by Netscape, SSL is a protocol for securely encrypting and transmitting electronic information between web servers across the Internet, and is the most popular method for ensuring the secure transmission of credit card data and consumer information. You will see a locked security icon on your browser when you are checking out/paying for your items, so you'll know that your transaction is secure and encrypted.

ProStores includes a shared Secure Socket Layer (SSL) with a 128-bit encryption shared SSL certificate provided by the Certificate Authority Thawte (a VeriSign company). SSL encryption also occurs when accessing the ProStores Control Panel, store administration and storefront pages that contain or collect sensitive data.
